How it works.

  1. One fixed pane.

A picture window is one pane of glass in a frame. It doesn't open.

  2. Lots of light for the money.

It's the most glass you can get for the price, and it's the most energy-efficient window we sell.

  3. Add windows on the sides for air.

Put casements or sliders on each side and you can still open something.

  4. From outside.

We fit the trim to your house, whether it's siding, brick, shake or stone.

What's in the window.

Your furnace's heat hits the coating and bounces back into the room.

Picture window in a home

Where it works best.

  • Lake and yard views

Nothing gets in the way of what's outside.

  • Living rooms

A lot of daylight from one window.

  • Stairwells

You'd rarely open a window there anyway.

  • Above doors

Adds daylight high on an entry wall.

Everything is built to order. We can go over all of this at your free measure.

Looking after it

Wash the outside with a long-handled squeegee or a hose. With no moving parts, that's the entire list.

Picture questions.

Why is it the most energy-efficient window?

With no sashes or sliding seals, there's nowhere for air to leak. It's fully sealed glass in a fixed frame.

How do I clean the outside?

From outside. On an upper floor, ask us about pairing it with operating windows you can reach through.

How large can it be?

We build to your opening, and the practical limit is usually what we can get into the house.

Can I get air too?

Yes. Casements or sliders on either side are the usual way to add it.
